LOVE WELCOMES is a creative social enterprise that helps refugee women begin to stitch their lives back together.
Love Welcomes reclaims the life vests and blankets worn by frightened, exhausted refugees as they wash up on European shores. A team of refugee women then transform them into beautiful, handmade welcome mats (and more) that they sell all over the world. Love Welcomes think big and change one life at a time.
EDITORS, JEFFERSON EYEWEAR and SONOR came together to help raise awereness and money for the Love Welcomes foundation.
In 2019, Editors signed a Sonor bass drum shell, used on the recordings of their Violence studio album.
This shell has been turned into 7 beautiful pairs of sunglasses. All made with a life vest string accent on the left arm.
They come with a display and a Promark drumstick, used by Editors drummer Ed Lay during their Black Gold tour.
You also get a piece of the bass shell, signed by Editors. It is the peice where the shades are made from.
There are only 7 pairs made, all sold within 12 hours.
For every sold pair, Jefferson Eyewear donated €100,- to the Love Welcomes foundation.
